What have I been Eating? Lead!

On the second of January I weighed 12 stone 3.
Last night I weighed 12 stone 10.

How can I have possibly put on half a stone in a week?
This morning 3 pounds had magically disappeared in the night. I do not and refuse to understand. Scales are clearly a thing only women can work.

I am going back to CURRY and BEER, which got me into this state in the first place.

I'm distressed by the fact that you found a picture of my former roommate.

I want some curry and beer right now. I have no idea how much a stone is, nor do I know how to work a scale. Some things are just best left alone.

A stone is 14 pounds. We brits love archaic systems for almost everything. I will provide you with a fact sheets for only half a crown and a florin.

Smahman,
I would not know where to obtain a half a crown and a florin and for all I know it would cost me an arm and a leg just in shipping costs alone.

From the great "Good Omens" by Pratchett and Gaiman...

Two Farthings = One Ha'Penny. Two Ha'Pennies = One Penny. Three Pennies = ThruPenny Bit. Two ThruPences = A Sixpence. Two Sixpences = One Shilling, or Bob. Two Bob = A Florin. One Florin and One Sixpence = Half a Crown. Four Half Crowns = Ten Bob Note. Two Ten Bob Notes = One Pound (or 240 pennies). One Pound and One Shilling = One Guinea.

The British resisted decimalized currency for a long time because they thought it was too complicated.
